Location: Annandale-on-Hudson, New York
This former Champion Tree lost its title after it was struck by lightning. In an attempt to stabilize the tree, cement was added to the top of the trunk. The tree later caught fire in the Spring of 2005, damaging the trunk. Despite these harsh difficulties, this Maple tree has survived and is estimated to be around 350 years old.
