Location: Bedford County, Virginia

The Bedford Tulip was at one time the National Champion Tuliptree. A clear multi-stem tree raised debate whether or not it remains the champion. Eventually, it was dethroned. Today the tree is a shell of its former self. Hacked up by an arborist in the early 2000s, the tree is still growing and sending out new growth from the chopped limbs. No idea how much longer the tree will hold on for.
